WWNY TV 7, “Secrets of Carleton Island”

On May 24 and May 25 WWNY TV 7 aired a two-part series by reporter John Moore called “Secrets of Carleton Island.”

The story was initiated by information found on  which is dedicated to the memory of Fort Haldimand and the Revolutionary War’s military post on Carleton Island.

The Program features the 1970s underwater excavation of a war ship, with computer models of Fort Haldimand.  Permission to film on Carleton Island was provided by Thousand Islands Land Trust  [TILT]. Artefacts were also displayed and shown through the courtesy of the New York State Museum

I invite readers to link to the Fort Haldimand website to see the combined the videos:

Thank you for the most interesting story on Carleton Island. My Dad's family had a farm at the other end of the island and my Mom taught school in the one-room schoolhouse there.
