Welcome to the Thousand Islands Arts Center's 2017 season and a year that will celebrate our 50th anniversary!
About the Art’s Center
We are happy to offer a full complement of classes again this year with exceptional instructors. In addition to adult classes, we have two more weeks of kids summer camps bringing our children's summer programming to a total of seven weeks.
Highlights of the 50th Anniversary schedule, include an exhibition entitled. “It Started at the River Prints and Paintings by Nancy Hammond,” and a Gala on July 6th which will feature the live auction of an original cut-paper work created by Nancy especially for the milestone anniversary
The 50th Anniversary Retrospective exhibition will feature a comprehensive look back at the history of the Thousand Islands Arts Center and the world-renowned collection of 20th century North American textiles of our Handweaving Museum.
Aside from our abundant class schedule, we have several other exciting events and exhibitions throughout the year. In May we held the 23rd Annual Weaving History Conference and we will feature text paintings by Kirsten Bowen, and ceramics by Tom Folino, as well as, the juried artwork of many other exceptional regional artists.
The very popular Dine-Around fundraiser is back this season and has been renamed the Linda B. Yenawine Memorial Dine-Around in memory of Linda, a longtime TIAC volunteer, supporter, trustee, friend and founder of the first Dine-Around in 2014. who very sadly passed away last year
And without doubt
We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to TIAC’s founders and many, many trustees. If it weren’t for their collective vision, dedication, and passion for the arts over the last five decades, we simply would not be where we are today
