Thousand Islands Country Club, Wellesley Island, NY

Situated on Wellesley Island, the 18-hole USGA course at the Thousand Islands Country Club is one of the nation's oldest, George Boldt developed the course with help in 1894. Seth Raynor, world renown golf course architect, redesigned the original 9 holes to an 18 hole configuration in 1924.

At 6302 yds, Par 72, it was reputed to be the longest course in the country at the time. Eventually it became the Thousand Islands Country Club. The TICC now augments the fully irrigated Old Course with the shorter, adjacent Lake Course, considered less arduous at 5005 yds, Par 70.

Jim Hungerford, who comes from Clayton originally,  returns to the River this summer as Director of Golf.  He sent along the following information:

"The TICC is extremely price friendly this year and we offer discount coupons at both courses that may be retrieved from our web. In addition, our Twilight Delight rate (after 2 PM) is a fantastic deal - $35pp at the Signature Old Course and $22pp at the Lake Course. Both rates include carts!

We also have special conditions for groups of 12 or more and a reduced price for our Military friends. Every day we have offer a special Family Promotion at the Lake Course for families with children 16 and under.. New this year; the general public may purchase a seasonal range package or they may still opt to pay by the bucket. Our practice facility is state of the art and the best in upstate NY. We have 18 well kept villas that are across from the Old Course and Yacht Club and golf packages are always available. One stop does it all! Drop your clubs off and begin to enjoy the beauty of our Wellesley Island and the St. Lawrence River.

Of course no trip to the TICC is complete without stopping by Hacker's Pub and Grill. Every table overlooks the Old Course or River and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Chef Scot Elmore works his winters at Greg Norman's Course in Hobe Sound, Fla. and we are very fortunate to acquire his culinary expertise for the summers"

The TI Country Club has a number of web pages with excellent information:  Golf Courses; Membership; Tournaments & Outings; Golf Packages; Golf Academy, Lodging, Restaurants, Weddings &, Banquets, Meetings and Marina operations.
