Frank T. Lent
Frank Townsend Lent was born in Poughkeepsie, N. Y. March 3, 1855. He was the son of David Barkins Lent and Louise M. Russell and died in Sterling, Ma. December 3, 1919. His father, David Barkins Lent was born in Pougkeepsie, N.Y. and died in Sterling, Ma. October 9, 1910.

Franklin Townsend Lent died yesterday at his home at Maple St. His death certificate lists the cause of death as "General Paresis Arteriosclerosis". He prepared for college at Poughkeepsie Military Institute, graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 1878 with a B.S. degree, and in 1881 with a MS., this was followed by two years of postgraduate training in the New Jersey based architectural office of William A. Potter and finished his studies in Europe. He was a member of different fraternities. Delta, phi fraternity and Phi beta Kappa, member of the American Institute of Architecture. He was the author of three books “Sound Sense in Suburban Architecture’..... containing Hints, Suggestions and Bits of Practical Information for the Building of Inexpensive Country Houses”, with illustrations by the Author. Cranford, New Jersey 1893 and "Summer Homes and Camps, Containing Suggestions, Hints, and Practical Ideas, Sketches, Plans, etc. for the Building of Summer Houses" by Frank T. Lent ,Tremont Building, Boston, Ma.,and "A Summer Bungalow for $500 " with illustrations." He is also featured in "Bungalows, Camps and Mountain Houses”, 80 Classic American Designs by William Phillips Comstock and Clarence Eaton Schmerton (p. 50)
He married Fannie Deane in 1902 in Canada, who survives him with one son, Deane Lent born in 1907. The funeral will be from the home. Friday afternoon at 2 O'clock. Rev. Charles A. Place. Lancaster, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sterling. Massachusetts.”
